datatruth Get your Truth Score

Self-check · 5 minutes

How ready is your data for AI? An honest self-assessment.

Eighteen questions, three for each pillar of the Truth Score™. You get a self-reported indication for each pillar and a count of what nobody could answer. It is what you believe about your data, not a measurement of it.

Runs in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it.

The self-check

Answer for today. Not after the next project.

“Don’t know” is a real answer here, and it counts separately rather than as a zero. If you aren’t sure, choose it.

01Accuracy22% of the Truth Score™

1If you exported your customer list today, how many would be duplicates?

2How much of your contact data (emails, phones, addresses) would you trust an AI agent to act on without checking?

3Do placeholder or test values (“N/A”, “test”, 01/01/1900) turn up in live records?

02Completeness18% of the Truth Score™

4Are the fields your AI plans depend on (renewal dates, payment terms, industry, owner) filled in on most records?

5How much clean history do you hold for the things AI would learn from (deals with outcomes, invoices with payment dates)?

6Are mandatory fields enforced in your main systems?

03Governance18% of the Truth Score™

7Does every active customer account have a current owner who still works for you?

8Is there a named person accountable for the quality of customer and financial master data?

9How many records still count as active though nobody has touched them in years?

04Consistency16% of the Truth Score™

10Do your systems use the same categories (country, industry, status, product) in the same way?

11When two reports show the same metric, do they agree?

12Are dates, currencies and units recorded the same way across systems?

05Connectivity14% of the Truth Score™

13Is there a customer ID shared between your CRM and your billing or finance system?

14If you matched closed-won deals in the CRM to invoices in finance, how many would match?

15How much of the data AI would need sits in spreadsheets rather than a system?

06Lineage12% of the Truth Score™

16Could someone trace the revenue figure in the last board pack back to the ledger, step by step?

17Are the adjustments made in spreadsheets between system and report written down?

18If an AI tool gave an answer, could you show which data it was based on?

Self-reported versus measured

What people believe, and what the records say.

  • This self-check

    What your team believes.

Quick, and useful for finding the questions nobody can answer. It can’t see a customer who is active in the CRM and missing from billing.

  • A Truth Score Read

    What your records show.

Exports from two or more systems, matched between them. A Truth Score out of 100, a Leverability read on the AI in question (which AI ideas you can use now, after fixes, or not at all) and the red flags between systems, in a signed memo. See a real sample memo.

  • The gap between them

    Often the finding.

Where belief and records disagree is where an AI proposal is most likely to stall. 8% of businesses say their data is fully ready to support AI at scale.

Questions

About the self-check.

What the indication is, what it isn’t, and what happens to your answers.

Book the call
Is this a Truth Score?

No. A Truth Score™ (a score out of 100 for how far your data can be trusted) is measured from your records: exports from two or more systems, matched between them, with every red flag checked by hand. This self-check records what you believe about your data. It gives an indication per pillar, not a number out of 100 and not a band.

Why is there no overall score?

Because a score built from opinions looks more precise than it is. Six plain indications, plus a count of the questions nobody could answer, are more honest and more useful.

Why does “don’t know” count separately?

Because not knowing is not the same as a bad answer, and it can be the most important finding. If nobody can say whether the CRM and billing agree, that is the first thing to measure.

Who should fill it in?

Whoever will sign off the AI spend, ideally with the person who runs finance or revenue operations. Answer for how things are today, not how they will be after the next project.

Are my answers sent anywhere?

No. The self-check runs in your browser, and your answers are kept in the page address so you can copy the link and share it with your team. Only if you choose to send them to us do we receive a summary of your indication with your details, and nothing else.
