Independent AI investment review

Every AI proposal assumes your data is fine. We check before you sign.

Your CRM, your finance system and your spreadsheets each say something different. We match them and tell you in writing what your data can support. DataTruth is the independent second opinion on AI investments: we sell no AI, no software and no fixes.

Starts with a 30-minute call. Commits you to nothing. No proposal yet? Name the AI you’re considering and we test that.

Built for CEOs and CFOs, and the investors behind them.

One sample company, start to finish. Real engine output on generated test data, not a client. Rows are representative; the counts are the engine’s.

What we find

Every system looks clean on its own. The truth is in the gaps between them.

In our sample, completeness scores 97 and accuracy 88. Each system passes its own checks. Then we match them: only 13% of deals tie to an invoice, and 823 customers in finance have no account in the CRM. AI doesn’t read one system. It reads across them.

Distributors, manufacturers, logistics, professional services, software: see the gaps in your industry.

What’s at stake

A wrong AI bet costs far more than the contract.

The licence is the small part. The real cost is a year of budget and senior time on a project the data could never carry, and a board that won’t back the next one.

Without
A vendor’s slide says you’re ready. You sign. Months later the pilot stalls and the post-mortem blames the data.
With

Why now

Older reporting read one system at a time, so the gaps between them stayed quiet. AI reads across all of them at once. And next year’s AI budget is being set now.

Why we exist

We used to be on the selling side.

Five years selling AI and two years working inside enterprise teams on their AI workflows showed one pattern. The projects that stalled rarely failed on the model. They failed on data nobody had checked before signing, because nobody in the room was free to. DataTruth is that check, done before the money moves.

We know how an AI proposal is written, because we’ve written them.

Read our story

Independent by design

Everyone in the room gains if you sign. We gain nothing either way.

We sell no AI, no software and no fixes. We take no referral fees, commissions or margin from anyone. Our fee is fixed before we start, so a ‘sign’ pays us exactly what a ‘walk away’ does.

  • The method is published

Six pillars, their weights, the bands and the cap. If Accuracy, Completeness or Connectivity is below 80, the score is capped at 0.55 × the weakest of them + 35. In the sample: weighted 75, Connectivity 44, cap 59. Read the methodology

  • Same data, same score

The Truth Score is rule-based. The same data, scored on the same date, gives the same score, and no AI model decides it.

  • Every finding has records

Each red flag points to the records behind it, so your own team can open them and check.

  • Limits stated up front

Every memo carries a scope line. A pillar with too little signal is marked limited signal or not assessed, never guessed.

How it works

You send the exports. We do the matching.

Our engine matches the customers, people, deals and invoices across the exports you send. Every red flag is checked by hand against sample records before sign-off.

Your part

Send the exports

Tell us the decision and we’ll tell you which systems matter, spreadsheets included. No logins and nothing installed: one person runs standard exports under NDA, and we send the exact field list first.

We match the records

We test the proposal

Send the proposal with your exports and we test each claim in it against the data it would need. Not whether the AI is clever, but whether your data can feed it.

What is DataTruth?

DataTruth is the independent second opinion on AI investments. Before a company signs an AI proposal or commits an AI budget, we compare the systems it runs on, record by record, and say in writing what the data can actually support: sign, fix first, or walk away. We sell no AI, no software and no fixes, and our fee is fixed before we start.

You’re new. Why should we trust the verdict?

We are new, and we would rather say so than dress it up. That is why the method is published, including the cap that holds a score down when a critical pillar is weak. Every finding points to records your own team can open and check, and the scope line says what we didn’t check. You can stop at the memo. Our first clients get a founding rate in exchange for a private reference call once they’re happy with the work, and only with their consent. We never name a client, fund or target publicly without written consent.

The consultancy’s proposal already includes a data phase. Why check first?

Because that data phase is run by the firm that is paid to build what comes after it, and it starts after you have signed. Ours happens before, when a finding can still change the scope, the price or the decision, and our fee is the same whatever we find. If the two agree, you sign with evidence from both sides of the table.

What exactly does the memo stand behind?

The facts in your exports on the date we read them: which records match across systems, which don’t, and what that means for the AI in question. Every red flag is checked by hand against sample records before sign-off, and each one points to the records behind it. The memo doesn’t predict how well a model will perform, value the AI plays or audit your accounts; it is not assurance or an audit opinion. The scope line says exactly what was and wasn’t checked.

Which systems do you work with?

Any system that exports to CSV or Excel, and the spreadsheets between them: CRM, billing, ERP and finance, HR and payroll, projects, support, and warehouse, transport or production systems where they export records. If two systems record the same customer, person, order or invoice, we can match them. If one can’t export the fields we need, we’ll say so on the call, before you send anything.

Do you put our data into an AI model?

The Truth Score is rule-based: the same data, scored on the same date, gives the same score, and no AI model decides it. We do use a language model (Anthropic’s Claude, through its commercial API) to read the plan or proposal you send and to help draft the memo’s wording from our findings. A person checks every line before it reaches you. If you’d rather we didn’t use it on your engagement, say so and we do that part by hand.

Who does the work, and how many reads can you take on?

Our engine matches the customers, people, deals and invoices across the exports you send. Every red flag is checked by hand against sample records before sign-off. We take a limited number of reads at a time to keep it that way. For a portfolio we agree a sequence, one or two companies in parallel, each memo within 5 working days of complete exports.

Will you fix what you find?

No. We never fix what we find and never run the remediation. You get a prioritised fix list, each item with an owner, an effort estimate and a test for done, written to hand to your own team or any outside firm you choose. An AI Investment Review adds the full remediation roadmap.

Do you need access to our systems? What happens to our data?

No access: one person on your team runs standard exports and sends them under NDA and our data processing agreement. We send the exact field list first, and nothing is installed. The full list of sub-processors comes with our data processing agreement, before any data moves, and any transfer outside the EU is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses. Raw exports are deleted after the engagement. We keep quality metrics and the memo, which cites a handful of sample records as evidence. How we handle data

What does it cost?

A fixed fee, agreed before we start, that never moves with the verdict. It is a small fraction of the proposal it tests; if it wouldn’t be, we’ll tell you on the call.

The most valuable AI advice you’ll get this year might be ‘don’t’.

Or ‘sign’, with evidence. Either way, in writing.
