CRM · Microsoft Dynamics 365 data quality for AICopilot reads Dataverse. Who reads Dataverse?

Dynamics 365 spans sales, service and sometimes finance, with each app governed a little differently. When Copilot or a custom model reads across that estate, the disagreements between modules, and between Dynamics and the systems beside it, are what get in the way. We compare your exports and show where.

Starts with a 30-minute call. Commits you to nothing. Then exports only: no login, no connected app, nothing installed.

Illustrative example, not a client.

Source of truth

What Microsoft Dynamics 365 gets right.

Every system is built to be right about something. Knowing what Microsoft Dynamics 365 owns, and what it doesn’t, is where a cross-system check starts, and where the Truth Score™ (a score out of 100 for how far your data can be trusted) begins to take shape.

  • 01

    Accounts and contacts

The customer master for sales and service, held in Dataverse tables.

  • 02

    The sales pipeline

Opportunities, estimated revenue, close dates and owners.

  • 03

    Service history

Cases, entitlements and SLAs where Customer Service is used.

What it isn’t the truth for

A single customer view. Sales, service and finance apps can each keep their own copy of the customer, and Dynamics being one vendor does not make those copies agree.

Inside the system

Common Microsoft Dynamics 365 data problems for AI.

What goes wrong inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 itself, with the objects and fields where it shows. Each one is checkable from an export.

  1. 01

Option sets that mean different things

The same concept is coded differently by module or business unit, and legacy choice values stay in the history. A model sees three categories where there is one.

  2. 02

Records that exist in one module only

Sync between Sales, Customer Service and finance apps leaves accounts present in one place and stale or missing in another.

  3. 03

    Ownership without accountability

Records owned by teams, disabled users or the wrong business unit. Routing and scoring models lose the signal of who looks after the customer.

  4. 04

    Duplicates from migrations

Years of imports and entry points leave duplicate accounts and contacts, sometimes one per business unit.

    Opportunities that never closed

Open opportunities past their estimated close date, with estimated revenue still counted.

Between systems

Microsoft Dynamics 365 looks clean on its own. The gaps are next door.

The problems that sink AI sit between Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the systems beside it: the same customer, person or transaction recorded differently in each. These are the gaps to test for each pairing.

What to export

What we need from you, in plain English.

Advanced Find or a view exported to Excel works for most tables; larger ones can come from a Dataverse export your admin already runs. We list the exact columns. We never ask for a licence, an environment role or an install.

What to exportFor whoever runs it
Every account, with its number, owner and business unitaccount: accountid, name, accountnumber, ownerid, owningbusinessunit, parentaccountid, websiteurl
Every opportunity for the last three yearsopportunity: opportunityid, parentaccountid, estimatedvalue, actualvalue, estimatedclosedate, actualclosedate, statecode, ownerid
Contacts with email and accountcontact: contactid, emailaddress1, parentcustomerid, createdon
Cases, if service is in scopeincident: incidentid, customerid, createdon, statuscode, caseorigincode
Users and teams, active and disabledsystemuser: systemuserid, fullname, internalemailaddress, isdisabled, businessunitid

How a Truth Score Read tests Microsoft Dynamics 365

From your exports to a signed verdict.

Within 5 working days of complete exports. A fixed fee, agreed before we start, that never moves with the verdict.

  1. 01

Export Microsoft Dynamics 365, and one system beside it

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 exports listed above, plus at least one neighbour, such as finance. Under NDA, using the field list we send.

  2. 02

    Match across systems

Our engine matches each account and its related records across the exports by ID, name, email and domain, including the ones spelt differently in each system.

  3. 03

    Check by hand, then score

Every red flag is checked by hand against sample records before sign-off. Then the Truth Score: each pillar shows what was measured and what wasn’t, and pillars with too little signal are marked, never guessed.

  4. 04

    Get the verdict in writing

A signed memo: the red flags between Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the other systems, a Leverability read on the AI you’re considering (which AI ideas you can use now, after fixes, or not at all), a verdict (sign, fix first or walk away) and a short fix list your own team can work from.

What you get back

See what comes back: a real sample memo.

One fictional B2B software company, Example Co: 72,837 records in 7 exports from its CRM, finance and HR systems, run through the same engine and the same checks as a paid Truth Score Read. Each system passes its own checks. Matched across systems, only 13% of deals tie to an invoice.

Real engine output on generated test data, not a client.

Questions

Microsoft Dynamics 365 and AI, answered plainly.

Anything else, ask on the 30-minute call. It commits you to nothing.

Book the call
Can you work from Dynamics without an environment role?

Yes. Views exported to Excel or an existing Dataverse export are enough. Under NDA, nothing installed, no user licence.

We run Dynamics for sales and finance. Isn’t it already one system?

One vendor, and possibly several copies of the customer. Sales accounts, service customers and finance customers are frequently created separately. Our engine matches them across the exports to show where they agree.

Does this tell us whether Copilot will work?

It tells you whether the data Copilot would read is complete, consistent and agrees with the rest of the business. That is the part vendors rarely test before you sign.

Which business units should we include?

Every unit that creates customer records. Duplicates between business units are a common reason Dynamics data disagrees with itself.
