Support · Zendesk data quality for AIYour AI agent will learn from your tickets. All of them.

Zendesk is the obvious source when a support team wants AI to deflect tickets, assist agents or feed churn models. Ticket data is written by many agents under time pressure, so tags drift, fields go unused and requesters duplicate. We compare Zendesk exports with the CRM and billing to show what an agent or model would actually learn.

Starts with a 30-minute call. Commits you to nothing. Then exports only: no login, no connected app, nothing installed.

Illustrative example, not a client.

Source of truth

What Zendesk gets right.

Every system is built to be right about something. Knowing what Zendesk owns, and what it doesn’t, is where a cross-system check starts, and where the Truth Score™ (a score out of 100 for how far your data can be trusted) begins to take shape.

  • 01

    What customers ask for

    Tickets, comments, channels and resolution.

  • 02

    Service performance

Status, priority, first reply and resolution times.

  • 03

    Who raised it

Requesters and organisations, as support sees them.

What it isn’t the truth for

Who your customers are or what they are entitled to. Contracts and entitlements live in the CRM and billing, and Zendesk organisations rarely share their IDs.

Inside the system

Common Zendesk data problems for AI.

What goes wrong inside Zendesk itself, with the objects and fields where it shows. Each one is checkable from an export.

  1. 01

    Duplicate requesters

The same person under several users through aliases and channels splits ticket history.

  2. 02

    Tags without a vocabulary

Tags accumulate freely, so one issue is labelled several ways and an agent cannot group intents.

    tagsticket fields

  3. 03

Reasons in the text, not the fields

Category, product and reason typed into comments instead of custom ticket fields, so the signal never becomes structured.

  4. 04

    Users not tied to organisations

Missing or wrong organisation links break the account-level view churn and service models need.

  5. 05

    Retired macros and field options

Historical tickets categorised against schemes the team no longer uses.

Between systems

Zendesk looks clean on its own. The gaps are next door.

The problems that sink AI sit between Zendesk and the systems beside it: the same customer, person or transaction recorded differently in each. These are the gaps to test for each pairing.

What to export

What we need from you, in plain English.

An admin can run Zendesk’s data export to CSV or JSON, or export views. We say whether comment text is needed at all; usually it is not. We never ask for an agent seat or an API token.

What to exportFor whoever runs it
Tickets for the last one to two years, with fields and tagsTickets: id, created_at, status, priority, requester_id, organization_id, tags, custom fields, via channel
Users and organisationsUsers: id, email, organization_id, role; Organizations: id, name, domain_names, external_id

How a Truth Score Read tests Zendesk

From your exports to a signed verdict.

Within 5 working days of complete exports. A fixed fee, agreed before we start, that never moves with the verdict.

  1. 01

Export Zendesk, and one system beside it

The Zendesk exports listed above, plus at least one neighbour, such as CRM. Under NDA, using the field list we send.

  2. 02

    Match across systems

Our engine matches each ticket and its related records across the exports by ID, name, email and domain, including the ones spelt differently in each system.

  3. 03

    Check by hand, then score

Every red flag is checked by hand against sample records before sign-off. Then the Truth Score: each pillar shows what was measured and what wasn’t, and pillars with too little signal are marked, never guessed.

  4. 04

    Get the verdict in writing

A signed memo: the red flags between Zendesk and the other systems, a Leverability read on the AI you’re considering (which AI ideas you can use now, after fixes, or not at all), a verdict (sign, fix first or walk away) and a short fix list your own team can work from.

What you get back

See what comes back: a real sample memo.

One fictional B2B software company, Example Co: 72,837 records in 7 exports from its CRM, finance and HR systems, run through the same engine and the same checks as a paid Truth Score Read. Each system passes its own checks. Matched across systems, only 13% of deals tie to an invoice.

Real engine output on generated test data, not a client.

Questions

Zendesk and AI, answered plainly.

Anything else, ask on the 30-minute call. It commits you to nothing.

Book the call
Do you need ticket text?

Not by default. Structure, tags, links and timestamps answer the core questions. Where text matters for a use case, we agree the scope with your team first.

We are evaluating an AI agent for support. What should we test?

Whether intents are labelled consistently, whether requesters resolve to the right organisation and whether that organisation matches a paying customer. Those decide what the agent learns and whom it helps.

How do we get data out of Zendesk?

An admin runs the built-in data export or view exports, under NDA, from our list. No seat, no token.

Can you fix our tagging?

We show the sprawl and what a controlled list would need. Your team or any partner you choose does the work.
